Emma AKEM, She is a Legal Practitioner and IP Consultant in the firm. She is a graduate from the University of Yaounde II Soa with a Bachelor’s Degree (LLB) in English Private Laws in 1996 and later proceeded in the same institution and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma (Maitrise) in Business Law. She equally holds a Master Degree (DESS) in Intellectual Property law from the University of Yaounde II Soa. Her area of competence is on registration of trademarks, patents, industrial designs and utility models. Emma specializes in trademark portfolio analysis and management, counseling, enforcement and prosecution. She works with clients to establish corporate IP programs and conduct domestic and international due diligence, investigations and analysis. Emma is equally skilled in at implementing trademark policing and enforcement strategies, negotiating and drafting license agreements and conflict resolution (drafting of advantageous settlement and co-existence agreements). She has a significant expertise in opposition and cancellation proceedings and represents the firm before the OAPI Commissions – Opposition Commission, Restoration Commission- in all industrial property litigation to defend the interest of our clients.
